visitors coming
Hey all, we actually have friends coming down in May. We are so excited!!! My mom came recently but other than her no one has come since we first moved to Mexico almost 3 years ago. We want to show them a great time. Any ideas on what we should do in or around Guadalajara would be much appreciated.

I love getting visitors :) Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I am sure they will have a great time.
ReplyDeleteDefinetly take them to Tlaquepaque and/or Tonala. I love going there. It's fun having visitors because then you get to play tourist with them.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy riding the Tapatio tour bus with visitors if they are coming for the first time - it will take you to Tlaquepaque, downtown, plaza del sol, minerva, and downtown Zapopan (arcos)it's a nice way to see it all quickly!
ReplyDeleteAlso we love Colomos, glorieta Chapalita, Chapultepec and if you have time visit Chapala and Ajijic!
have fun!!!
Here is the website for the buses Grace mentions

I belive you can also get on and off the buses at any stop and explore and get on the next bus that comes through
Thanks guys, I think the buses are a go. We told them about it the other day and we love the idea. I think we wont get off at Plaza del Sol though because its so close to the house and we can take them there any day. If you all think of any other great ideas keep them coming. I dont think we will have time to go to Chapala we will have to see whats going on with work by then.
ReplyDeleteI love Tonala. Some advice on going there though....the street markets are thursdays and Sundays,i have only been a few times on Sunday (i hear thursday is less crowded)
ReplyDeleteIt is a mad house. Traffic is backed up forever, just getting off the off ramp wasa a challange. The crowds were shoulder to shoulder. I had a stroller and it was near impossible to maneuever. The side streets are less crowded than the main line of vendors.
It is a really good place to find some cool stuff, just some things to think about if your bringing kids
Rebecca as always thanks for the great advise. It is such a different thing when your going with kids. I think were gonna do the tour buss which goes through there. That way we dont have to park.
